Are The Bears Ready For The Season Opener

The Chicago Bears have less than one week of practice left before the season opener against the Detroit Lions, and from what we saw as fans during preseason, it's going to be a scary season. With the talks of such a great coaching staff, and Peppers joining in alongside Chester Taylor, and Brandon Manumaleuna, we were excited to see this new look team in action. Well, things didn't seem that way through all four games in the preseason in this 2010 season. The offensive line looked the same as they always do, with Jay Cutler getting hit and sacked way too much. In this complicated offense, if they want to be successful, then they must give Cutler more time to throw the ball. To be honest, the problem that everyone thought was going to be the biggest issue hasn't been so bad, the Bears receiving core. With bright spots in Johnny Knox and Devin Aromashadeau, this seems to be the least of their problems. Defensively, the main issue seems to be in the secondary. The D line has new life with Julius Peppers leading them, and the linebackers need to find a way to remain healthy. Overall, if the offense is what worries me the most due to the fact that we didn't see much improvement unless the genius, Mike Martz, has something up his sleeve and won't unveil it until Sunday. Will this be the greatest show on sod? Or is this going to be another disappointing, long drawn out season?
